Debating Club

Teamwork, empathise, reason

At the end of Term 1, senior students have the opportunity to apply to be part of the Nailsworth Primary School Debating Club. This club is currently run by a parent volunteer on Wednesday afternoons during Terms 2 and 3.

Students in the NPS Debating Club participate in an in-school competition. A small group of students are selected from this group to represent the school in the South Australian Debating Association interschool competition.

Through debating, students develop skills in public speaking, time management, teamwork, research and organisation. They also learn about current affairs and become more empathetic and able to understand that most issues have more than one valid side.

We would love to have more parental involvement in the debating club. Please contact the school if you would like to be involved.
