On Monday and Tuesday, in Week 4, all the Year 4s went to Glenelg Beach, to learn Surf Safety so we knew how to be safe at the beach. It was absolutely safe and really fun and exciting.

Our group did run swim run. We had to line up, and when it was our turn, we had to run into the ocean then swim from one instructor to

another, then run back to the beach. We did this four times, and I felt pain because it’s very hard and you had to run and then swim and then run again.

Our group also did paddle boarding. We had to get a board and then go into the ocean. Once we were in the ocean, we had to run until the

water was knee depth. Then we could go on the paddle board. When we were on the paddle board, we had to adjust by putting our arms

on the nose (at the front of the paddle board), then slide back until our hands were on the nose. After you had to paddle to move, we also

got to catch waves by paddling to the beach when the waves were coming.

We also got to do free time. At free time I took the paddle boards and ran into the ocean, then started paddling. When I was paddling, I saw

so many other paddle boards. It looked so cool because there were so many colours in the ocean when we were paddleboarding. At first,

there were teeny weeny little waves. Then after a while the waves

started to get bigger and bigger and bigger until the waves were

gigantic because the wind was starting to blow a lot, but it was so fun

to catch.

We also did a game called Chicken Schnitzel. It was so fun, but I

didn’t feel good when I got sand in my mouth. It felt so crunchy and

disgusting. We had to run into the ocean and get wet all over then run

to the soft sand and roll in it to get all sandy. It was so warm. Then,

after we rolled in the soft sand, we had to run back in the ocean to get

fried. I wanted to do it multiple times but unfortunately, we only did it

once.

Surf Safety was overall so fun! If I had a chance to go, there again I

definitely would!
